Inside Outsource Consulting

Tom Hickman is the founder of Inside Outsource Consulting and author of the blog Inside Outsource. A proven thought leader in outsourced product development and information technology outsourcing, Tom has built and managed outsourced technology teams ranging in size from five to over 300 engineers.

Prior to founding Inside Outsource Consulting, he was Director of Global Sourcing at Iron Mountain, the world leader in information protection and storage. There he built a successful multi-vendor, multi-discipline technology sourcing program employing over 300 engineers spanning five global delivery centers.

In his consulting practice as well as his writing and public speaking, he draws on a broad range of experience gained in both venture-backed startups and large multinational corporations. Through his career, Tom has worked on global sourcing partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, engineering operations and process, software development and quality assurance, product management and marketing, client deployment engineering, and technical support. His past speaking experience includes the 2007 Symphony Services Crescendo event in Pune, India, multiple sessions on network management technology at Cisco System's Networkers 2000 and PAC Rim Cable Technologies Summit, as well as speaking slots at the INT Media Group's Enterprise Storage Strategies and the GO MOBILE! Conference.

Mr. Hickman holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
